About DoctorDataHub
What This Site Does
DoctorDataHub makes the federal NPPES (National Plan and Provider Enumeration System) database accessible to anyone. The NPPES registry contains over 8 million U.S. healthcare providers — every physician, nurse practitioner, dentist, therapist, hospital, clinic, and other provider who bills Medicare or Medicaid is required to have an NPI number and appear in this registry.
We publish that data as a searchable, browsable directory so patients, researchers, administrators, and developers can find providers by name, specialty, state, or NPI number.
The Data
All data on this site comes from the NPPES NPI Registry, maintained by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS publishes full bulk exports of the registry as public domain data under the NPPES Data Dissemination program.
The registry is updated weekly by CMS. Our database is refreshed periodically to reflect those updates. Refer to the "last updated" timestamp in the site footer for the currency of our data.
Who This Is For
- Patients verifying a provider's credentials, specialty, or practice location
- Healthcare administrators looking up NPI numbers for billing and credentialing
- Researchers studying provider distribution, specialty supply, and geographic access to care
- Developers building healthcare applications who need a browsable reference for NPI data
- Journalists and policy analysts examining the healthcare workforce

Provider information may be outdated between NPPES publication cycles. Always confirm details directly with the provider's office or your insurance carrier before making healthcare decisions.
