Otolaryngologists — commonly called ENT doctors (ear, nose, and throat) — are physician specialists trained in the medical and surgical treatment of conditions affecting the ears, nose, throat, and related structures of the head and neck. They are among the most commonly visited specialists in the United States.

Common Conditions Treated by ENTs

ENTs treat chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, hearing loss, ear infections, tinnitus, balance disorders (vertigo), deviated septum, sleep apnea (in collaboration with sleep medicine), tonsillitis, voice disorders, thyroid and salivary gland conditions, and head and neck cancers. Many ENTs also perform cosmetic procedures of the nose (rhinoplasty).
